It was cold this morning! I was riding the VTTA (London and Home Counties) 10m TT at Marlow (the H10/22). It was a day for long sleeves, long-fingered gloves and the Norah Battys (why do lycra leg warmers look so baggy on me?).

It was a tailwind out, headwind back, but this was mitigated by a) most of the climbing being to the turn and b) pretty good shelter for most of the course. It was drizzling as I started, but this just served to slick up the roads nicely.

So it should have been a fast ride. Especially after an unscheduled rest day yesterday. So how come I went back to a 25:20? Disappointing.

My thanks to organiser Cecil Hambleton who announced that this would be the last event he would organise. He has run events since the 1970s.
